Standing ovations were given to the students from Holy Trinity Lutheran College after they performed their version of Alice in Wonderland over the weekend.
The audience responded to the various characters with laughter, shouts and applause, helping carry the cast across in their debut performances at Horhsam Town Hall.
HTLC teacher and show director Michelle Hahn said she was very proud of the group.
“They were highly successful and far exceeded our expectations with how well it all came together,” she said.
“The cast and crew did a superb job and I am very, very proud of everyone.
“By the final performance, they were becoming quite seasoned performers, with many actually improvising parts of their scenes and interacting with the audience.”
Mrs Hahn also paid thanks to the audience.
“The audience was very receptive and supportive,” she said.
“They really seemed to enjoy the performances with standing ovations on opening and closing nights.
“Many posed with cast members at the conclusion of each show and were extremely complimentary to all students, including those selling programs.”
