After over 40 years of ‘Clowning’...
Well known and much loved local identity-Strawberry the Clown’ aka Karen Bibby made a special impromptu appearance recently.
While not returning to ‘clowning’ officially, Strawberry did want to share her love of clowning and entertaining young children with her grandchildren.
She donned her ‘Strawberry’ outfit especially for her grandchildren recently, so they would know who Strawberry was.
Two of her grandchildren, who belong to Reece and Lisa in the photo are Sawyer and Daisy
Karan started clowning back in Sydney around 1976 and brought her special character identity to Warracknabeal, when she married Aubrey farmer, Brendon Bibby.
She worked as Strawberry the Clown for 40 years finishing in 2016, when she suffered some serious health issues.
The much loved identity of Strawberry the Clown was well known around the region, regularly appearing at birthday parties, Christmas carnivals and many other private and community events.
Apart from her magician’s expertise, she was also often seen face painting and modelling balloons into all sorts of characters for the adoring children in her shows.
