Warracknabeal resident Betty Krahe had a pleasant surprise while volunteering at the Yarri Lodge Lolly Shop recently.
Mrs Krahe often volunteers at the shop and stepped in when they needed extra help, not knowing her family was coming to see her.
Her grandson Cam, his wife Sarah, and her great-grandson Louis arrived at Yarriambiack Lodge and found the lolly shop, which sold drinks, lollies, and ice cream.
They planned to buy a sweet treat for Mrs Krahe before their visit, but were surprised to find her working behind the counter at the shop.
"There was Nanna Berry volunteering behind the counter, serving customers with her beaming smile," recalled Sarah.
Louis bought his great-grandma a bag of lollies, and then Mrs Krahe finished her shift early to spend time with her family.
