'A reward for hard work': Horsham Little Athletes medal at combined events
Eleven athletes competed in Bendigo on February 1 and 2.

Horsham's little athletes have returned from the state combined events in Bendigo with two medals and three top-10 placings on February 1 and 2.
Jett Hill claimed a silver medal in the under-13 boys, and James Burton won bronze in the under-17 boys.
While Jack Sawyer (fifth in under-12 boys), Asha Meek (fifth in under-15 girls) and Benji Jowett (seventh in under-12 boys) came away with top-10 finishes.
"We've got some really talented athletes in Horsham, we really do," Horsham Little Athletics Club vice president Ben Sawyer said.
"Given the size of our centre compared to some of those state ones, we've got around 150 members at the moment, and some of the ones in Melbourne have got 500 or 600 members.
"We're punching above our weight. They all try hard, and they love it... It's basically a reward for hard work."
The under-13s competed in five events in one day, they included: 100 metres, hurdles, long jump, discus and the 800 metres, while the girls competed in shot put rather than discus.
In the under-14s, athletes competed in six events across two days, while the under-15s and above competed in seven events across the weekend.
"The points accumulate based on the time you run and the distance that you throw or jump," Sawyer said.
Hill recorded 1719 points for his silver, while Burton's 3358 was enough for bronze.
Sawyer was also impressed by Hill and Jowett's overall effort in the under-13s.
"We had a really good showing in the under-13 boys [with a second and seventh place]," he said.
"Jowett ended up seventh but was placing in the third, fourth and fifth positions for most of the day.
"It's a really great effort to make the top 10."
Horsham's athletes will now attend the western country region track and field carnival in Warrnambool on February 15 and 16.
