A new leaf for chapter and verse
Children's books not sold during the Horsham College Chaplaincy book fair are being put to good use.
The unsold donations are being packed up and sent with others from across the country to developing countries.
Horsham East Rotary Club youth committee member Tom Gallagher picked up 30 boxes containing about 3000 books after the latest two-day book fair in Horsham College's Ian Maroske Hall, which raised $6473.
College chaplain Yolande Grosser thanked everyone involved and said she was pleased the club could distribute them where needed. Unsold books from the previous fair were sent to Papua New Guinea.
Money raised by the book sales helps to keep a chaplain in the school, funds the lunchtime gathering chat group For Faith, and buys food items for the "brekky hub" that provides breakfast for students on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
